The Community Clinic of High Point’s dental suite celebrated its first anniversary in June of this year, a year filled with dental healing, learning and building smiles.
The dental suite, located in the clinic’s offices at 624 Quaker Lane, opened in June 2025. Since then, the clinic and its dental volunteers have seen 105 unique patients for 165 appointments, providing accessible, high-quality dental care to underserved members of the community.
Forty unique patients have completed follow-up appointments, and 46 more are scheduled.
“It is humbling that patients trust me, often before we’ve ever met, and have confidence that the treatment I recommend is the best course of care.” Bass Nunn, one of three volunteer dentists who have served patients during the past year. The other two are Frosty Culp and Mike Samuel.

Created to meet the dire need for basic dental care for the uninsured and underinsured
in the greater High Point area, the dental suite provides a comprehensive array of services, including digital X-rays, routine exams, patient education, customized treatment planning,
and cleanings. It also provides essential restorative and corrective procedures such as composite and amalgam fillings, extractions, occlusal guards, and partial dentures to ensure long-term oral health for patients.
Without a network of community and industry support, the successful first year would not have been possible. From the outset, key partners have included a dedicated team of volunteer dentists, High Point University’s Workman School of Dental Medicine, Henry Schein, and Patterson Dental.
Central to the clinic’s launch and first-year success has been the generous support of the David and Helen Congdon Family Foundation.
“We are thankful to the David and Helen Congdon Family Foundation and family for investing in the belief that dental health and appearance are essential to self-esteem, workforce participation, and overall quality of life."

As the Community Clinic of High Point’s dental program enters its second year, its leadership is focused on key growth goals, including securing more volunteer dental professionals to increase patient capacity and continuity of care.
The Community Clinic of High Point provides free healthcare and dental care for adults who are 18 years of age or older, live in High Point, Archdale, Jamestown or Trinity, do not have private or government insurance and meet household income level guidelines.
